UKVIA supports Cancer Research UK study

UKVIA supports the recent study from Cancer Research UK  which adds to existing evidence that switching to e-cigarettes can “significantly reduce harm” to smokers. Commenting to the Cancer Research UK study, a UKVIA spokesperson said:

“Public Health England have already highlighted vaping as 95% less harmful for your health than smoking tobacco. Now one of the UK’s first long-term studies, by Cancer Research UK and UCL,  unequivocally supports this conclusion.

“Vaping has significantly grown in popularity in the UK in the past few years. There are now nearly 3m vapers. We urge the Government to recognise that this represents a huge public health opportunity, and work with the vaping industry to encourage more smokers to switch from tobacco to vaping.”
