Now in its second year, VApril will be rolled out in cities across the UK and encourage smokers to ‘Switch On’ to vaping during April. It follows evidence recently published by Public Health England, which highlights that vaping helps 20,000 people quit smoking in the UK every year.

The month will kick-start with a special pop-up launch in Leicester Square, London, where industry leaders, politicians, and public health professionals will join Doctor Christian Jessen and the UKVIA to speak up for vaping and the huge public health potential it represents.

All vapers, smokers and supporters are invited to join this celebration of vaping, where they’ll be able to take part in vaping masterclasses, receive expert advice and learn more about the vaping devices on offer. Register a place at the VApril Launch here.

Throughout the month, smokers are being encouraged to take The Switch On to Vaping Plan and drop into vaping masterclasses run by specialist vaping stores in cities across the UK. They will also receive a free TheSwitch On to Vaping Plan, which has been written independently by the New Nicotine Alliance and draws on the experiences of those that have been there, done it and successfully given up conventional cigarettes for vaping.

Dr Christian Jessen said:I am excited that there are now over three million vapers in the UK who have made that life changing decision to switch from smoking. But yet, according to Public Health England, an incredible 40% of smokers have never even tried vaping.”

“This is why I am supporting VApril, the national vaping awareness month which aims to change this by encouraging more smokers to consider making that switch to a far less harmful alternative. Get involved in VApril this month and take the Switch On to Vaping Plan – you won’t regret it.”

This year VApril will be going global as international vaping associations in South Africa, France and America add their voices to the speak up for vaping campaign. VPA South Africa,France Vapotageand Global Vaping Standards Associationwill be spreading the VApril message to smokers in their own countries and encourage them to try vaping as one of the most effective methods of breaking their habit.
