In response to the reported fatality from vaping in the USA, Dan Marchant, UKVIA board member and managing director of Vape Club said:
“We are saddened to hear of the death of a man in the USA that has been reportedly linked to vaping non-standard products and we are keen to understand the precise circumstances that led to his death. While Public Health England are yet to report any illnesses linked to vaping, the industry in the UK is ready to work with the public health community to help share best practice and advice. In the meantime, we would like to reassure vapers that the UK has the highest standards and stringent product safety rules to protect consumers. We would encourage vapers to only purchase their vaping devices from reputable retailers where they can seek expert advice if they require it.”
